Hi All,

My 2014 Cupra 280 is starting to drive me nuts with the amount of noise coming from the dash.
I think I've managed to pinpoint the location to the surround where the tweeters are on the A pillars.
If I push it, it sounds like a sticky/clicking noise and I think what's happening is the door is pushing onto the weather seal and then pushing onto the dash causing this.
If you apply pressure around this section, the noise goes away. I'd imagine over the years maybe the glue has come unstuck around this area.

My question is, has anyone had this problem before and is there a way to remedy this so I don't go insane on long journeys?

Thanks

Colin

Im not being sarcastic but my cupra makes more creaking noises than my grannys knees.

The best remedy i have found is the volume button on the radio.

If you remove the A pillars with a trim removal tool, and then use 25mm wide automotive felt tape around the bottom of the A pillar trim, this eliminates a lot of noise.

Use the same felt tape under the transmission tunnel - there are 3 plastic sections that come together roughly in between gear lever and hand brake lever.

The door cards squeak against the end of the dash can be cured a number of ways, but I usually use a silicon shoe quick-shine sponge (kiwi neutral) on the ends of the dash when the doors are open - not perfect, but eliminates a lot. The alcantara door trims on the FL Cupra models prevent this from happening.
