Cupra Alarm problems

Hi there,
Has anbody suffered similar problems to myself with the alarm on their Cupra.

Firstly, I can no longer unlock the car remotely with the key fob. On the odd occasion I do, the alarm just goes off.

If I leave my car locked in the company car park, colleagues with VAG cars (Ibiza, Passat and Golf) report that when they set their alarm, my alarm activates.

I have also travelled down a high street, when somebody locked or unlocked their Golf and my alarm activated whilst I was moving (causing me much embarrassment).

Last week I flashed a guy to let him out of a side street, and my alarm activated again. I could not turn it off, but after a couple of minutes it just switched itself off.

This morning on the way to work, the alarm just went off again, as I was travelling in the outside lane of a dual carriageway (not too sure what the guy behind thought, when my Hazard lights came on as I was doing 60mph). After 30 seconds it stopped.

I asked the local leon dealership last week if they could run some diagnostics whilst they were sorting out another problem ( footwells filling up with water).
They could find no indication of a problem.

The car is a 2001 (51 plate).

Many thanks

Brian

If not the car has to be taken back to seat to have the key reprogrammed, this will overide existing codes, so it would only respond to that key that you have!

if the key has power and the car dosnt repond then they cant be in sync. keys have to be matched to the ecu. perhaps resetting your key to the ecu or new battery in the fob?

but why are other peoples affecting you?

if you jus use the key to open close doors, i dont think this off the alarm! so when you start the car it may go off!

Im using the fob to deactivate and unlock.... so its not that.

Oh and the Autowindow reflex in my sig is NOT actually fitted yet, so nothing has been messed up there.

So basically it goes off mainly whilst you driving!
This only could be checked via the diagnostic,

Thats odd because on my car you can't physically lock a key in the car from the outside. If i left the engine running on a cold morning i was unable to lock the door manually or via the fob.

Thanks for the info.

I will try the disconnection of the battery at the weekend.

With regards to other peoples remotes setting off my alarm, I have had two or three people at work tell me that when they activate their alarms in the car park, my alarm starts going off.

I have also been present, when i had just got into my car, the guy in a passat next to me unlocked his car, and my alarm went off.

A couple of times as i pulled into a parking bay, my alarm went off, which i can only assume was somebody locking thier car next to me.

I have a problem with my alarm, not with it goin off but with the keyfob not working, it just 1 day stopd so i changed the battery, stil no joy so i tryd getting it reprogrammed which seat wanted 90quid for but I found someone to do it cheaper (AutoAccess i fink) STILL nothing!!

My lock on the drivers door has also been changed so i have noway of locking my car, I can lock all doors except the drivers door with the anti-hijack button but if I want to lock the drivers door I have to use a big stick to push the button from the boot (funny I know).

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be or shall I just get a Clifford??

If my alarm goes off starting the car shuts it up so it sounding whilst driving is a mystery.
