Is this facelift or non facelift exhaust?

In my case its the mk7 one, so from the pre-facelift car. It involves a little more work, as the exhaust tips are installed to the bumper originally, so you have to weld them straight to the exhaust.

Looking at the full exhausts laid down, is it that the only difference between the Cupra OEM and the Golf R 7.5 exhaust is the backbox + dual tips?

Actually, even the backbox seems the same, with only dual tips per side as opposed to single.

Yes, as it seems that the difference is in the back boxes. And again, the mk7 ones looks even more the same as under the Cupra, because of the one outlet pipe from both boxes. Thats why i didnt even compared the part numbers at first, installed the Golf exhaust and after hearing the great impovement, checked the oem codes and they are different (actually the Octavia vrs ones seems to be the same as Golf). Weird to me that they muted the Cupra ones much more.

Just because the boxes look the same, doesn’t mean the internals are.

Seen 2 system that look identical for the Golf GTi, but the internals wheee very different.

Exactly, ive seen the cutted pictures from the internet and they are way different from the inside. Ive used Clubsport S muffler on my GTI and they were also sounding so different and so was from the inside.

Found them from the internet, showing the difference between the Cupra and Golf R muffler difference, altho the outside look is the same.

Hi does anyone know if the golf r hatch exhurst fit the Cupra 280/290 ? As I have the full exhurst off one

I only know that the GTI one was a straight fit to a Cupra hatch. For the R muffler, it may fit otherwise, but you shure have to cut the diffusor for the tailpipes.

Cupra R hatch has a golf GTi system, so space and hangers are good.

But you have 2 issues with the Golf R system.

Tail pipes are overall bigger. Each pipe is 100mm wide, with a 10mm gap, so 210mm overall. I think the Cupra is only 120mm.

Golf R system is valved and plugs into the car for opening/closing the valve depending on driver profile.

Yes, pretty shure you only have to modify the diffusor itself, like i did on my ST.
I see the harder part of making the flaps work or at least turn the flaps into always-open position.

It looks like you still have the motors attached. Most aftermarket systems for the Golf R, require the original motors moving onto the new system.

All you’d need is the wiring loom from the exhaust to the car and then coding in.

I didnt like the res delete either, sounded weird in some situations, especially when the exhaust was cold.
