The new MY20 Cupra lux doesnt appear ot have the white material, can anyone confirm that the new black replacement is leather and not some cheap plastic?
I paid attention on the way I get into the car: when I sit, at the entrance, I happen to sort of sit on on side part of the bucket - right before you take central place and make yourself comfortable. This I guess - bends a bit the white trim every time and cracks it.
Now when I know what was wrong will try to get immediately to the center of the seat. BTW my weight is 67 kg - wouldn't define myself as fat
Well, I found a shop (knew about them for several years, since I started to gain interest in cars) - it's a local detailing shop, who does an incredible work - and made fix on both (for symmetry/similarity) front chairs.
The ugly plastic-like material was changed to a real white leather.
Pictures will come later (wanna do them at a day time, just collected my car from the shop).
It's pretty expansive, but my mental health is more expansive for me
Interested to see pics when it's done.
It's certainly something I want done with mine.
It is done, but the car is sleeping in the parking lot - bad light condition there - will upload pics tomorrow morning
Agree. It would’ve added very little to production costs for Seat to use a small amount of leather on that part of the seats, rather than the inferior material that was used.Looks very nice and should have been leather to start with.

Hi - as promised, here are pics after the shop repair. Now it is not some ugly plastic, but a real leather. The color is true white, vs blueish white of the original, but it doesn't bother me as that crack.
And little paws detected (will be washed soon)
Can I ask for much you paid for the work?
After getting new cracks on the driver seat fixed by the dealer few months ago, i decide to go big. My only regret now is i didn't do it sooner, recaro's are amazing, confort wise, support and look. the difference is insane on the track but also in everyday usage. Go for it guys!
Hi all, I’m new to the group. I’ve got a 2016 Leon and have recently noticed a split to not the white material seen in a lot of your concerns but the actual black faux leather material? Has anyone seen this one before, obviously car is out of warranty so I highly doubt they will cover but this surely has to be a manufacturer defect. Seat UK have said cars out of warranty which I accept but the car only has 32k on it so surely with them knowing of this ‘common fault’ they should or would offer good will! Any ways of pursuing this without having to book it in and pay £60 diagnosis fee for them to look at it
