Cupra 160TDi Stalling

Just experienced first hand a fault with friends Ibiza. Drive hard, >3000rpm, plenty of throttle and if you drop the clutch for a second i.e. stop at junction, engine will stall, and unless downhill won't restart without a spray of 'Easystart'. Replicated fault by dipping clutch at speed. Thinking along lines of Exhaust Gas Recycling system, Idle Control system or MAF. No Fault codes in the system at all:confused:, no warning lights (well at least not when done at speed). Anyone had anything similar? Bizarre..... No other faults at all.....

If there are no faults logged its gna be a stuck egr or block lines, (to much exhaust gas) or idle control.

MAF would usually just cause rough running or hesitation not total stalling of the engine.

I have worked on a ka with the same symptoms. That was idle control.

Another poss could be fuel pressure regulator.

Don't think filter has been changed..? I'll look up EGR Cleaning. Without Fault Codes Dealers just shrug....
