Has anyone upgraded to cruise control, if so how much did it cost, and is it better getting a dealer to do it.?

u need to be more specific as to what model your leon is mate.

Westec performance do it for £150 fitted i think. Parts cost around £70 for a petrol car, slightly less for a diesel as less wiring is needed.

yep - £150 notes to you then - see the westec performance subforum on here - they are in south wales.

You could get the bits and fit urself - you'll need steering wheel removed, change over indicator stalk, run cables through bulkhead and wire it up to the ECU - I'm sure instructions can be found by googling it ;)

The westec boys are a good bunch and know their stuff. When I was there they had all the bits (maybe not the extra wiring loom) and did the job nice and quick. Aaand they gave me the free revo trial. [B)] Good fun on the way home to sy the least!

It's not as scary as you think fitting it yourself, there are fitting guides on the net to follow(same as mkiv golf). All you need is the stalk with wiring and the extra loom to go into the ecu , also the correct bit to undo the steering wheel . Should be able to do in around 1 1/2 hrs taking it steady.

Then you just need to get it activated via vagcom to save yourself around £80:)

Fitted mine myself followed guide on mkiv golf forum, excellent fitting guide, made the supplementry loom up myself. the parts can be found for sale here www.vagparts.co.uk you will need one of the two stalks plus the 1JO loom for inside the car then make the supplementry loom for the connection between the bulkhead connector and the ECU. follow these links for fitting guides.

Oh and you'll need vagcom to turn cruise on afterwards.

If you live near Suffolk and want a hand let me know.
