Hello All,

I have recently had my V5 serviced and on its return the Cruise Control doesn't work! :(

I have tried to hold the any of buttons down for a few seconds when the car is on the drive with and without the ignition (and yes I have tried it when the car is moving, before I get any sarky comments!!)

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Stu

it'll be something like a disconnected clutch or brake sensor

A scan on vag-com will reveal all I think. if you want me to scan it, drop me an email

Still not fixed........

Big thanks to m0rk for trying to sort this out.

Unfortunately the problem is not sorted. It going back to the dealer tomorrow, so we'll see what that turns up.

Does anyone know if all 150 v5's had throttle cables? If they do, does everyone else have the same weird servo on the front right hand side of the engine at the end of the inlet manifold. Is that the cruise control?

Coz if that's gone up the swanee it looks expensive!!

Cheers all

The only thing I can see on the diagrams in that position is labelled

Vacuum positioning element
◆ For change-over in variable intake manifold

so no, it's nothing to do with cruise control.

Check fuse 5, 7.5A (brown), which is labelled Cruise control, Climatronic and convenience systems.

Cruise control only works above a certain minimum speed, the manual says 30 kph, about 20 mph. Pushing the buttons when stationary will do nothing useful.

Is it switched off? Sliding the button on the face of the stalk all the way to the right does this.

Cruise control is done in software by the ECU, so a wiring or ECU fault is a possibility. The clutch and brake pedal sensors, used to deactivate cruise control if the pedals are moved, are also suspects, as they are only used by the cruise control.

Sorted out at last! After a trip to the main dealer all it needed was a throttle body reset. That cured all the problems in one hit...... :D

Irratic Idle, intermittent ac performance and lastly cruise control. Apparently the thottle had "lost it's way" and didn't know it's exact position!
