A mate told me that i can get the SEAT garage to fit cruise control to my 52Reg Leon Cupra (180bhp) for around £100. As much as i'd like to believe it, i don't !. Is that true ????. It would be very handy on my car as i do a lot of Motorway driving to and from work. So, firstly, can cruise control be fitted to a 52 Leon Cupra (nor R) and secondly, how much would it be for a SEAT dealer to fit if it can be (rough figure) ?

(You know the type of cruise control i mean. It's the type even my dad has in his 54 Leon 20V SE, fitted on the left steering stalk)

Kind Regards,
Andrew

Yes you can have it fitted, but im not sure if the Dealer will do it. I know people like JBS (they have a section on this site) will fit it. Do a quick search and im sure you will find all you need to know.

If you've got drive by wire throttle control then it can be fitted, I had mine done by Westec for £150 which included the loom and stalk.

Doubt you'll get a dealer to fit it tbh. I asked two and both said that it couldn't be done

Cheers both ! i'll have a look into that. Any other ideas if any local garages can do this. I'm in North-East UK, near Newcastle ??

well now i have just rang the original SEAT dealership who i bought the car off. They said they COULD do it, but that the 52 Leon Cupra was indeed a "drive-by-wire" accelerator which has a pulse control on the accelerator, so it would cost a staggering £600 !!!!. Bang goes that idea then, unless they were trying to rip me off !!!!

Cheers,
Andrew

They know jack sh1t then.

All they need is a wiring loom and a cruise stalk, it just hooks straight onto the ECU. IIRC the dealer doesn't do it any more due to it not being financially viable.

Your best bet is Westec!

Only problem there is Westec seem to be too far away for me to travel. I live near to Newcastle in the North East, do they have a partnership nearer ? any suggestions ?
