Alright guys.

I've tried to search it on here. But I can't find what I'm after.

I'm just wondering if anybody has a guide or write up on how to remove the egr valve on a cr170 fr for cleaning.

Cheers.

I might be wrong but it is not right at the front of the engine, where the metal pipe comes round from the rear from the exhaust and joins into the inlet. I know that's the egr pipe, just not sure if that's the valve there or if it's at the rear of the engine. Either way follow that pipe. You'll know the only I'm talking about its roughly 15-20mm diameter I reckon.

Ye that's what I'm gonna do bro. I have no idea what state it's in so it's worth it.
I've seen a thread about changing the gasket on it. Do you know much about it?

On the CR engine its on the rear attatched to the cooler. Its not a simple job to get it out and clean.

I did find a guide someone did and ideally you need a ramp. There is a DIY way of doing it and its at least 5-8 hours of pain.

This is what it looks like:

If you want to clean out the EGR valve then that's easy at the front of the engine just above the intake plastic pipe. I think there are 3 bolts but the back one is tricky to get to.

You will want to replace the gasket with attached the cooler pipe on the right hand side however the rubber circular gasket on the top will be fine.

If you want to clean out your EGR then like the above then it's located just below your trunk on the reverse of the car. And I wouldn't remove it if I was you.

Nah it won't clear it. If you want to clean to EGR you will need a strong solution to shift it and will probably need scraping off so wouldn't have thought terra clean would shift it.

Will find the pics I took last month as took egr valve, throttle body and inlet manifold, my cr170 had done 102,000 egr valve wasn't too bad inlet manifold did have a thick layer inside, after cleaning it all properly its alot smoother at idle and when driving and feels abit more torque'y

High pressure Brake cleaner from a can or carb cleaner, petrol does work quite well but try not to submerge the electrical side of it

If you could get your pics with a little bit of a guide that would be amazing.
How long did it take you?
