cordy engine swap

Hi to everyone! you have a new bee's question coming up! I think it's time for my car to get more power than 60Hp that now has. It's a Cordoba 1.4L 8V 60Hp 1999 model... I'm thinking to do an engine swap, but i have a dilemma, i don't know if it's better to install a 20v 1.8L turbo engine or wait a little bit longer and find a newer 1.4L tsi engine with 170Hp. What bothers me most is if the new tsi engine fits the engine bay and if it has the same engine bases with mine or i must modify them if i decide to install that motor.
Excuse me for my bad English..
Thanks in advance!

i think it would be very difficult getting the 1.4 tfsi lump installed alot of custom work i should think, not only that but i suspect theyre like gold dust, and very expensive when you do find one

the 1.8T seems to be pretty straight forward going into mk2 chassis

Thank you very much for your very quick answer! I think the 1.8L engine installation is much easier, has lower cost, an easier to find engine. On the other hand the new tsi haw other pros like fuel consumption, taxes ( for my country), environmental matters etc. However, from my search through the net and the tuning market in my country, the 1.8L T engine looks to be the answer to my question. Even though, i made the question to see if any other guys, ever thought about the tsi in a cordoba engine bay!

hopefully, I'll be able to deal more with my matter when i get back home. Be sure that pics, specs, and prices will be sent!
The tsi,in my opinion, is a great engine and it worths taking a look at it.

Surely the best & certainly most straightforward option is to sell your existing car and buy a similar model with a larger engine? This would have other benefits like matching brakes & suspension.

Well... I like the shape of this car very much, but that's not all... It's a different thing to buy an other car, and modify the existing one... I would like to modify my car as it makes it more personalized...
