I did find some readings old rolling road pulls. These was made with old setup with old IC, cylinder head and camshaft.

4th gear 80-120km/h =6,1sek (50mph to 74.6mph)
5th gear 80-120km/h =8,3sek (Same like above)

And next was 100km/h to 160km/h

4th gear 100-160km/h =7,6sek (62.1mph to 99.4mph)
5th gear 100-160km/h =9,7sek (Same like above)

Hopefully now little bit faster!!

Nothing much happened here! Lots of snow and cold breeze. Spacers has worked fine in winter conditions. Rear is very stable in snow and even ice. Also front doesn't understeers in any weather conditions at all.
Waiting summer and hopefully more power. Maybe next is time to change bigger fuel pump!

Thanks mate!!

Nothing much happened here since my last post. Soon I hope to get new map in. And hopefully more torque. In summer I sign up for one mile challenge to see how fast this smokey is.

Some of my other hobbies. I belong to team who organise those (small) rallycross events in here.
And even bigger Neste rally. Last time I was in special stage Ouninpohja in track security.

Cordoba Vario TDI "smokey" (some drawback's) :D

Yesterday early morning I headed place called Tampere to see one buddy called Power! We had mind to make finally new map in to my car.

We did take first testdrive and my friend said that something is very wrong. It could be bad ECU software or bad boost leak. We checked some minor leaks but was VERY surprised when we found a M10 threaded hole at turbine case and boostpipe joint!!:wtf: And that was just good luck when we find it!

Well! Some fieldrepairing and assembled all together and take two! My wife called this car as a jet at first time! Because boost was so loud like jet engine! Where was that sound? Actually that sound was heard when that engine started at first time years ago!

 So that boost leak was main reason why those HP readings was so low back then!!

Second testdrive did feel VERY different now! And one good pull we did blow downpipe away!!

Well it was still good summer day!

Everything is fixed now.

Last saturday (29.6) I headed place called Kuorevesi and I went one mile challenge at airport. Still my Cordy is not working perfectly! :( First run was bad!! Soon after start I did take notice that only half throttle it did take over boost! Allmost 0.5 bar over. And that was it! Limp mode!

Second pull was much better! Easy start and full throttle at 3rd gear. Now I did take 204km/h (127mph) and was quite happy now! It could be little better after tune up!

That black Corvette (2nd video start) was fast!! Fastest pull at the day was 351kmh/h (218mph)!! It was faster than bikes!!

Yeah! But it could be better.

That VNT is (now) badly adjusted because that 10mm threaded hole was there. I think at this moment my car is missing about 15-30hp now!?! And missing 10-20km/h with that engine setup.

Well! I wasn't first but not atleast last! :)

You have the high lift cam fitted. I wonder what revs it best operates in or if a diesel works the same way as a petrol in the respect that a high lift cam tends to make it want to develop it's power at a higher rpm. The 12 mm ve pump and 14 mmve pumps need a lift pump in the tank to supply them. Apparently 10 -14 psi supply to the fuel pump is the magic number. I think too low and the pump can be starved and too high and the combustion process is affected in a bad way.

I think it only needs a pretty low pressure for the higher end where the required out does the IP's own lift pump.

Cam seems to help mid range on the tdi, ported and polished head work along with the 12mm pump seems the thing that really helps the high revs too.

That's the way I've read it so far but could be wrong.

I've been to the tdi club forum recently, as you can tell, and found a thread by my friend diesel Des from 05 I think it was. He took me out in the car and it was 0-100mph in the wet in 13 sec from standing start but he never really told me all the workings of it so it was cool to find it. I found a thread that stated that diesel fuel has the capabilities of supplying a combustion expansion rate to support 10000 -14000 rpm. So I have been fannying about some would call it, trying to calculate or find out what is necessary to make good power at 6000-6500 rpm. The mates made peak power at 4250 and usable out to 5250 and he had it governed at about 6000 rpm which he was able to hit. So that's what my grey cells have been up to.

With the brake horse power being a function of torque times rpm then that should yield some good top end power. What about fuel delivery and timing I wonder to make the best of it.
