1.4's can have A/C fitted to them, only ever seen a couple as it was a factory extra and cost quite a bit. I'd be scouring ebay for a 1,4 ibiza, cordoba or MK4 polo with A/C and then getting them to send you the parts.

Seen a couple of A/C kits on there lately

thks for the info cuprakid. in fact i never saw a 1.4 with A/C but yes there are

regarding ebay i never saw ibiza and cordoba model like mine which were being sold for parts, and dont know at what price these complete a/c systems.
having saw 1.4 with a/c, maybe you could know if 1.4's without a/c, have got or not all necessary holes and spaces already to be fitted with a/c???

thks again

all the necessary holes and spaces should be there for the A/C to plumbed in. As said before you would need to renew most of the heating system and get a new set of heater controls with the 'A/C' button built in.

I would of thought A/C from a 1.6 should be able to be made to fit a 1.4 as apart from the difference in capacity they are very similar.

i thought of taking an a/c compressor and parts from a 1.6 engine since 1.4 is not so common with a/c, but not sure if they match or have some differences in the compressor. dont know
