Coolant Won't Bleed!!!

I've just changed the Cambelt/tensioners water pump and thermostat

I've been running the engine with the expansion tank cap off and i can't get the coolant system to bleed, after a few minutes the coolant just bubbles over in the expansion tank.

Strange thing is temperature gauge stays at 90*C


Any Tips, ASAP please!!

its a self bleed system, put the cap on and use the car as normal

surely that when the thermostat opens the coolant tank will empty.

as i can only get 2 litres of coolant in there tops at the mo (it should take about 5 litres)

mine was changed about 2 weeks ago drove about 10 miles home from my mates garage afterwards then topped up up the water in the morning, did u manage to get a 5 litres out cause i know i didnt get it all out

yeh pretty sure i got the best part of 5 litres out, bare in mind i've had my water pump and thermostat out so there wasn;t any trapped anywhere.

just had the new thermostat out and chucked it in some hot water to check that it works, and theres no problems there.
