Hey people. I'm in the middle of giving the car a mini-service before its MOT next week, & today i was gonna topup the coolant. So i thought id jump online to compare prices of G11 (which it says in my engine bay i should use!) The blue stuff! Anyway, after looking up 4 or 5 different pages on the net alot of VW & Audi owners were saying that they've changed over to G12 for performance & engine wear reasons!

Does this also apply to us SEAT boys as well then?

What do all of you's use?

Thanks -Mark

There's no F in Quality..
DO NOT use G12 if you've got G11 in your coolant already.....

You want to use G12+, which is available from GSF or your local VW/Seat dealer, and it's bright pink !!! ;)

G12+ can be safely mixed with G11 and G12 without causing any problems.

If you mix G11 and G12 then you get problems with rust etc.....

Editing your spelling
i did loads of reading about this for the old golf i have which has had g11 in it all its life, i wanted G12 so i wouldnt have to change it all the time, but like andy says its not wise to swap as you can never flush the old stuff out properly and its in the gaskets etc and when the two mix they do mess things up. Theres a lot about it on a corrado forum i found by googling it.

I didnt want to risk it and stuck with G11.

Didnt know about G12+ though.......

G12+ available from most factors ... or Halfords

That's what I thought but I was searching for it for about a month and couldn't find it anywhere.Everyone was only selling the blue one. Until one day I was working behind the till at co-op and looked at some clearance items, and OMFG there it was G12 coolant for Audi/Skoda/VW/SEAT, for 99p as well because it was a clearance item.

Out of all the places I have been and searched for it, it was literally right under my nose the whole time.
