Hi guys, I am going to attempt to fit my new TIP today, but just wanted to quickly check something.
Do i need to be extra careful when taking some of the connections off the existing TIP? or am i ok to jus go in and take old out and put new in?

if your car is running standard then no point changing the TIP. If you have remapped it then its advisable and is a sensible mod. Apparantley they can split at high revs when running more power, and plus they are better built so i also heard they improve performance slightly. I just remapped mine from Performance Torque few weeks ago, so that is why i am doing this mod.

P.S. Cheers Nev, wil have a crack at it today

if you dont want to spend big amounts on the TIP, there was a thread i started on here last week 'changing the TIP' and so many members said go for a THS performance TIP, as it is same as the forge one, and is half the price. I ordered mine on friday, paid £66, and received it 8am sat morning. they are only internet based, so email them and enquire. www.thsperformance.co.uk

they said that they dont make much of a difference. jabba really arent as good as people say. i know 5 people with 1.8 t that have been back multiple time because the mapping is wrong. and the maps arent custom. they have 150 pre set maps with they load on in turn. until they find one that suits your car. james

It is worth changing the TIP as i have had the original fail after only 17000 miles whilst running a standard map.

ouch! yea THS did say they only had a few left and once they were gone there would be a waiting time. I have just fitted my new TIP, within an hour all was done, trickiest part was getting the old clips off!! hate them. Pair of pliars and a good twist snaps them off eventually. and after a test drive it does seem a bit more responsive, and looks nice in the blue ;) might have to do the coolant hoses next!
