What a difference a day makes!

I've currently got a new Astra 2.0 Elite auto on Motability, but the climate control is big time faulty and they've agreed to take it back and let me choose another car.

So i've been looking at getting a Leon instead. Have decided against an FR as delivery time is too long for a non optioned car, although there are a couple available with 18s (one Black Magic, one Speed Blue). But I don't want 18s, i'll be 40 this year, my back won't cope with another hard riding car.

I can get the following reasonably quickly:
SEAT Leon SE 1.6 TDI DSG in Ruby Red - with bluetooth and convenience pack.
SEAT Leon SE 1.6 TDI DSG in Track Grey - with convenience pack.

I think the Ruby Red would be my ideal spec, BUT i'm guessing its a 2009/2010 model and as such I can't find an online brochure or spec sheet. Does anyone out there have a PDF brochure or a spec list for the 2010 model?

I would definitely go for the one with Bluetooth. It gives you a better MFD display with more options to customise, as well as the obvious phone connectivity. :)

I have an Ecomotive SE which is also 1.6 common rail and I really like it. Not nearly as powerful as an FR, but still nippy enough and a really refined, quiet little engine.

Why not ask the dealer whether it's MY10 or MY11 spec?

I will do tomorrow, but he's had enough of me for one day!

I did check the bluetooth compatibility list, my HTC HD2 is apparently ok, so I think as long as the Ruby Red has the major stuff like cruise control, climate control etc I think it'll be a go-er :funk:

You're in luck. The SE trim level has lots of little extras over standard including cruise control, dual zone climate, electric back windows (as well as front like standard), 8 speakers (vs 6 standard), etc... ;)

Sure sounds like a comprehensive spec. The only thing i'll miss from my Astra is the front parking sensors and the leather heated sports seats. Oh, and about 55bhp.

Ruby Red is a 2011MY colour so the car will be a 2011MY nice colour and spec so would deffo go for that one. Track Grey is ok but always felt it looks drab when dirty and looked a bit like grey primmer.

After a night's sleep (and not a very good sleep, worrying if I was making the right decision) my decision has been made.

In theory (subject to Motability approving my application) I should be the driver of a SEAT Leon FR TDI 170CR DSG, in Black Magic with 18" wheels, sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I saw an SE earlier, if I got it i'd always be kicking myself that I didn't get the FR. The fact that the FR on 18s would only cost an extra £710 over the optioned SE sealed it for me.

FR is not that hard to be honest since they put on softer springs on the FL version even on 18's .Will be a nice car enjoy :D

Collected it earlier, very impressed with it so far, though i'm having to get used to a proper handbrake again. Considering it's "only" got 10bhp more than my Astra, it's already much quicker. It is noisier though and the ride is firmer but not unbearably so, the 18's see to that, but the engine is much quieter.

Not a clue! It's the standard FR job, no DAB. The book says SEAT SOUND SYSTEM 2.0 if that helps.

It is the new one then looks like an RCD310 used in the Polo and Golf ect.

Orginal Media 1 I think looks nicer but is a little fussy to use until yo get use to it.

18" wheels do kick up more road noise than 17" and the Leon's only real downfall is the amount of road noise that enters the cabin compared to its rivals.

Good stereo and easier use than the orginal one IMO. Wonder why Seat switched to a standard VAG group stereo??? Easy if you ever want to upgrade though as you can fit any RCD/RNS with just plug and play and no need to buy a new fascia plate :D

Im very annoyed now. My tale can be found in this forum thread http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=296403
(Seems that thread has been deleted, without my knowledge, however pix can be found https://www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.148701551846154.24832.100001189293193&l=baa6b116be )

I've now been told I only keep the hire car from Directline for another couple of weeks max, but can't get a non optioned metallic painted FR TDI CR DSG til March. Until then i'm going to be out of a car. F U M I N G is how I am right now.

So i'm back to square one.
