yep, it will handle poorly that low, and as youve said catch and eat your tyres, kill your wishbone bushes, ball joints and so on.

if your wanting to fill the arch gap then fit 18 inch alloys and then lower, the 17s on the cupra will take a lot of lowering to fill those huge arches

im pretty sure your going to have arb clearence issues aswell going that low.

Wouldnt 18s cause it to rub once its adjustered to fill the arch? Wouldnt it just catch in the same place?

Was thinking of getting some 18s on it anyway.

you woudnt have to go so low and the tyres will be thinner

upto you but tbh id just lower it 25-30mm to get it sitting right and handling properly

Better put my rear adjusters back in hey hahahahahaha!

When i get home from work gonna put the coilovers on the front up a bit. Has anyone else had problems with the wheel catching the strut or is that just because of how low it was sitting?

Well it was doing both when i first lowered it. But raised it up and i dont think its catching the strut any more.

it shouldnt be catching the strut when lowered at all really.

you sure its not rubbing the arb onto the driveshafts...

is there evidence of it catching the wheel arch liner?

silly question, you did do your wheel nuts up tight didnt you?

Nah not the arb rubbing on the driveshaft. Checked that. Yeah evidence of it catching the arch liner and was evidence of it rubbing on the strut as well. But i raised the suspension and i dont think its catching on the strut any more. Was rubbing on the spring part of the strut.
