Just about to go to Teesside park tonight with the g/f and coming down the A689 doing 60mph and the engine managment light came on and then i loost power from the enigne in every gear!!!

Sounded like was stalling in all gears even first managed to get it into wynard services and had a look and couldnt see anyhting but listening to exhaust note and the smell of unburnt fuel makes me think that its only running on two cylinders...

Am home now managed to get it back and thought about getting breakdown service out spoke to them on phone and am going to ring them in morning see what they can do and if they cant do nothing then im going to get it up to sg petch again in Durham where i have been today

so im stuck wihtout a car, dont know whats wrong and need help

Anyone know what might be up

AA & RAC etc, all know about these duf plug-top HT coils, and carry them. You can expect them all to fail. Price is ~£25 each, perhaps +VaT.
They did indeed get given an extended-warranty status of 5 years, but the dealer may need reminding of this.

I have only recently bought a 12V IBIZA for my son, only to find that it,and other VAG cars belong in the same category for unreliability and stubborn dealers as FIAT and ALFA ROMEO.
Fortunately, the net/forums have prepared me for the problems yet to come, and allowed me to fit a new chain and tensioner outfit prior to total catastrophy.
I am amazed that VAG can still hold their heads up high.
Even AUDI 1.8T cars in the states burst their chains, costing $5000, but no help comes from VAG!!
The bushings/springs & shocks problems must surely be the worst of any car group in the world. ( I AM aware that any long-service car will need these renewed, but VAG seem OTT).
