Depends what flywheel you have. LUK will only fit an LUK flywheel. And sachs will only fit Sachs fly's.

Just because it's not making any noise doesn't mean it's still good. Upto you, I know if I was paying to have one fitted I'd stump up the extra, as £200 for a fly now will be £5/600 if it goes in a month.

He has a very valid point and I was in the same boat as you. I couldn't buy these kits as they are oem replacements not for modified cars, maybe like 260bhp / 270lb torque tops. Hence why I chose the Awesome GTI one.

A flywheel won't cost much extra, and for a garage to fit at the same time as a clutch it won't even cost an hours labour more. Buy the Sachs kit (cheaper) then buy a Sachs flywheel (from the same site) and get a garage to fit the lot. It's a 4-5hr job to do a clutch on the LCR as it is, so get them to do the flywheel too.

I manage to get a local bag specialist down from £350 labour to £280 to fit the parts. So your looking around that mark - and always negotiate and ask for less/a deal.

If the LUK kit comes with a release bearing (and is a little more pricey) then buy that one. Otherwise u will need to buy an oem release bearing for your Sachs kit. Look how much LUK flywheels are...

I got a clutch, fly and slave kit for £300.

I replaced my clutch the other week, never had a clutch apparently. it had an LUK flywheel... so its impossible to say what it has.

If your gonna be mapping etc and you need a clutch I personally would fit a performance kit with a flywheel. You could fit a standard clutch and kill it again then have to go through all the exspense again. Best do it in one hit if you ask me.

I have replaced it, put a standard one in as the price difference was night and day. admittedly, i do all my work, so 3.5hrs to put another one in is no bother for me. I Will be putting a paddle one in when I fit the 2871.

Ah cool well it good to know they can take the extra power. Always a bonus being able to do the work yourself. My mates got a garage so aint to bad for me. Paddle clutches are a pain in the ass if you get stuck in traffic had one on my mates escort turbo and it was a nightmare.

I've run them before on a daily, trick is to get one with a spring dampened friction plate.

I had one on my ITB'd 172, with solid mounts, that was a little unconfortable at times lol
