Clarification on T-Cut products please

I've been reading a lot of posts about how T-Cut is (generally) too harsh and best avoided. Could someone please clarify whether this applies to the whole range (specifically the Color Fast product) or just the 'original'?

On Color Fast, is it fair to say that it's comparable to other polishes (rather than restorers) as far as abrasiveness is concerned? Does it contain cutting agents that break down to polishes (like Scratch-X)?

The reason for all the questions is that I have some T-Cut lying around and wanted to give it a go but am concerned about doing more damage than good. I'm not bothered about how good a job it does; I can always go and get something else if it doesn't do the job, I just don't want to damage the finish.

It's for a Plantinum Grey car BTW.
Cheers.

The metallic Tcut is milder. Cutting paste should be abrasive by it's very nature and it is up the users pressure and application style to control how much you take off. The stuff you get in the motortrade is far more abrasive than T-cut.

Does the car really need Polishing? Try some NXT tech wax instead - it works well for me.

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to remove/reduce (what I hope is) a surface scratch, so, yes, some polishing will be necessary.

This is what I was trying to get at in the original post. There appears to be some confusion as to whether Color Fast is more of a cutting or polishing product.

Cheers.

You will find a lot of the T-Cut products with coloring agents arnt compounding product. They are more of an abrasive polish.

Anyway I wouldnt bother with T-Cut. Try Megs Scratch X as I find this is not as harsh and works better. If the scratch isnt lessen it will need to be machine polished to round of the edges so its not visisble to the eye.
