Cigarette lighter socket not working Leon Mk1

Hi everyone.

Yesterday my cigarette lighter socket stopped working. It is quite urgent for me as I need my GPS most of the days, without it I feel lost when I am driving.

I have tried to do some research and some people reckon it must be fuse problem. I will check the fuse but if I have to replace the hole socket is it an easy job I could do myself or take it to dealer??

If this isnt the problem then take the fag lighter out of the back of the tray by unscrewing the one screw and replace to check if its that IIRC ?

I changed the fuse today by opening the fuse box on the driver side and it is working again!!! thanks guys!
