I have the LEON 2.0 TFSI FR, and just recently bought the chrome wing mirror covers for the car. The dealer stated that it was a easy job to remove the exsisting ones and add on the new one, but i can't see any easy way around it without damaging the exsisting ones. The dealer states they will add them but for £41.00, which is more than i paid for the covers.
Can anyone assist me and others in a step by step guide on how to achieve this, if possible with photos

Cheers

Hi Reesy, if you have the chrome ones in front of you.... you will see the four retaining clips on the inside of the cover. Basically you need to spring these clips on your silver ones to get them off. I did it by sliding a non metallic kitchen spatular between the edge of the black plastic and silver cover, with a little leverage (in the direction of the clips) and they ping off. Be careful as they really can fly off........ if you don't have your other hand there to catch it.
It really is only a few minutes job. Quite how the dealer wanted to charge you £41 for doing it I don't know.

Thanks for the reply your advice is great i'll try that, but could you just clarify do you use the non metallic spatular to go through the internal gap at the top of the mirrors or on the external shell of the mirror.

By the way they look awesome on your car, i hope they look as good on my red one.

After your advice it took about 10 minutes to remove and fit the new ones, they look awesome. I'll take a few photos over the weekend and post then, but thanks again for your help. I think i might now get the chrome tailgate, and once fitted post a post a further photo.

Cheers
