Hi

I hope someone can help!?

I picked my car up from the bodyshop yesterday and the radio doesn't turn on, the centre consol doesn't light up, I have no heater controls working and the clock has frozen at 12:09.

Does anyone know what it could be. I checked the fuses and they seem ok. Is it one of the relays?

Really could do with some help

Cheers
George

has the front of the console been taken off? as there is a cable that goes from the console to the main unit, i had smae kind of problem so i took the front of console off (unskrew 2 philips underneath console) then unclip console be carfull you dont damage the cable connecting it behing then just make sure it is clipped in properly at the front of console and at the main unit. if its not that then im probably not gonna be anymore help to you.

Hi

The consol hasn't been off. I have checked the fueses and they seem ok? The only other thing I can guess it could be would be one of the relays? I am a bit stumped though how its just stopped working. :(

well it might be worth checking the connection between the front of console and the main unit incase the band has rattled loose? if not then i dont have a clue.

Connections seem ok. I've looked at the fueses and they seem fine too. According to the KEY on the fuse cover there are some relays that also control the panal for the fan and radio etc.

Does anyone think its likely these could be faulty? Is there a way of testing them?

Cheers again

Just a thought............ it sort of worked on my missuses car

disconnect the batt for at least an overnight lenght of time. Then reconnect in the morning. This should reset all the factory 'defaults'.

Failing that, do some searches on 'LCD panel staying on' (you might even find a reply from me above this one to another member....). I think you'll find it's all down to the radio..! I know.... i couldn't believe it either..! Seems the radio and the air con ect ar all linked together in the unit behind the LCD panel (about the size of a mini hi fi apparently). A well known and documented fault on all Ibiza models around the year 2000. Cost around £80 to £100 to get it fixed...... but through a bad experience, would NOT recommend you go to Seat..!

Good luck

Ok cheers. I'll try disconnecting the battery Friday night and then see what happens when I reconnect it. I can hear a relay clicking in the drivers footwell now. I'm hoping it might be that!!

Not had time yet mate. I have heard a clicking of a relay so I need to investigate that first. I'll let you know in a couple of days bud.
