When I lock the doors with the remote, the drivers side back door is trying to lock but the little plastic pull thing isn't going all the way down. Its really stiff to push down by hand as well.
Any ideas where to start trying to loosen it up/fix it?

Many thanks

I've got the same problem. It all started from the right side (2-door TDI sport) and now both sides are not locking right away. You need to use the remote several times to lock it properly. That is why I am using the key...I think the problem might be with the central locking device located in the boot? Any suggestions?

Hi bai_ILIA

Have you noticed a pattern for when yours malfunctions, or is it all the time?

Mine doesn't do it all the time, but it seems to do it when I driive home from my girlfriends place.
The thing is, thats a 20 minute drive, after dark, lights/heaters/radio/wipers etc all on, and I tend to not see any other traffic so I just take it very easy and drive nice and slow and steady 30-40mph all the way. I get home, turn everything off, and it does it.

Next day, once the battery's recovered, its fine.
I think this might be a question of charge in the battery.
Can you check yours next time you go for a daytime drive with no electrics on and see if it makes a difference?

Cheers
Gene

Mine started several months ago. First, the passenger dooe, now both. The problem occurs all the time regardless of the conditions. As I understand this is a common VAG issues - troubles with the central locking system.

I am pretty sure that it is the central locking mechanism located in the luggage compartment. It takes 3-4 clicks on the key to lock it. It is possible that a hose is loose or something is not right.
