OK, I've bought the Sony CDX-T70MX MP3 and is waiting at home for me to test it...

Reading on here it looks like I may need the standard bracket from SEAT to fit it to the wing.

Will the Sony come with it's own bracket and will this fit?

Do both just screw into these 3 holes? And can anyone tell me where they are?

I've found the DIN cable and there is a small circualr bit of the carpet which is precut....

Do I need to pull the carpet away from the wing to find these holes?

my Sony CDX-T70MX MP3 was delivered yesterday - plugged in all the cables and hidden them away behind the carpetting - works fine sounds great.

BUT, i have no idea where i'm going to mount it permanently....
the few places i've scoped out where it will fit look pretty vulnerable - esp if you want mountain bikes etc in the boot...

if you've already fitted it, i'd love to know what you've done... any pics?

Andy:: the player comes with a pair of plastic brackets you can bolt to the player in a few different positions. you then need to use the drill some 3.5 mm hole and use the provided self tapping screws to attach the bracket. i recommend you peel back the carpet to check where you're drilling - don't want to go right through the side or your brake lights!

cheers james

Cheers James. I've had mine plugged in too and I'm in a similar position to you.

I'm picking up some mats at the weekend so will ask about mounting.... I'd prefer to use the standard bracket (OEM) and hopefully existing holes...if they exist.

Where did you get yours from? Mine was from CEL - Direct...

Went @ weekend.

Parts guy said they tend to fit them on the floor.... I pulled loads of carpet up and found that behind the two precut bits of carpet there are 2 plastic caps.....are these covering screw holes? Will probably bite the bullet this weekend and mount it to the floor.

adapter-less changers?

I got mine from ebay - £92

Do a search for VW cd changer - most are from VW's but are comptible - I could see 2 types, one with a circular connecter (not the one you want) and one with rectangular connector (the one you want).

Do you mean that this will fit without any lead connectors?

ive been looking around for an autochanger for a while, i thought that all non Seat changers require an adapter which generally costs 50quid.

this is the best deal i have found http://www.incardiscount.co.uk/acatalog/SEAT.html which is 160 for the Sony CDX-T69 with the adapter.

Does anyone know for sure what changers can be used without adapters so i can pick one up off of Ebay?

cheers

I did it.

Looked at floor mounting but there are so many creases on the floor it would end up in the middle of the boot.

I put it on the back of the seat. When the seat is back it fits nicely between the suspension mount without causing the seat to foul. It's quite well hidden as the shelf covers the face of the changer and needs lifting to eject the magazine.

I may cover the rest in carpet though.

This way if she needs to put the seats forward to carry anything big (not that she would as I have a 307) all that's needed is to unplug the 3 cables that are neatly tucked away then fold it down. Also means its well out of the way near the passenger seat.

I have no pics yet as i am a gay.

Ran into a problem last night.

The missus has been nagging me for ages to do her loads of tracks on a cd for her. I ended up with 166 MP3's on one cd. It seemed to read the cd quicker than one I have with 40 on.

Problem is when I get to track 99 and press next track it skips to track 01 rather than 100. You can get round this by holding down skip track and searching to the end of track 99 then it goes onto 100 ok. To get 101+ however you need to hold down the skip track or listen to it all.

Still no pics.

Can you only get the connecting cable from Seat, or will most Car places do 'em?...Went to Halfords earlier to try and sort this but they were totally clueless... :thumbd:

Thanks

if any one wants it, i have a connects2 box which will allow you to plug in any sony cd changer or md changer into the std seat wiring plug which is in the boot.
£25 inc postage, i think they are about £80+ new

This was a really useful thread. I just bought an Ibiza this monday and couldn't find the CD Autochanger connection until AndyVTR posted pictures of his.

Does anyone know if there's an autochanger connection in the front of the car as well? I'd like to be able to get this working:

It would be too cool to have all of that, plus satnav all hooked up to the in-car audio.

Glad they helped mista. I'm now considering an MP3 player for my motor. I know another mista who has a Golf and he managed to butcher a cable he'd bought for about £10. Everywhere I look all I see is either IceLink which costs a fair wad or Connects2 which is cheaper but not £10 cheap.

I'd like a £10ish cable that fits the back of my Aura HU and gives a 3.5mm jack at the other end. Do they exist?!

The VW CD PIC that I linked provides that, but you have to make it yourself unless you can find someone on their forum selling one: http://www.k9spud.com/vwcdpic/

How do I access the CD changer interface behind the radio?
