CD Changer lead

My mates Mrs has a Ibiza (X plate) and she wants a CD changer. Now I have read that all Ibiza's have the cd changer cable already installed so adding a changer is easy. My mate called the dealer to check and they said it doesnt you will need to fit a cable.

There is one square connector in the boot which the dealer says is for a towbar ...

Can anyone point me in the right direction .. ? What is this cable ? and if a cd changer cable is required is it easy to fit ?

dealer sucks . that is the connector for the CD changer (as long as the infocender supports CD changer)

It supposed to be written on the faceplate, and it has got a CD button too (in the case it supports it).

Do the later ibizas have the auto changer cable in aswell?

CD changer cable is located in the... am... i think left side of the boot

This is true, picked up a changer from ebay with the rectangle shaped connected and it worked a treat, now just need the bracket and some time to fit it before his Mrs bday!

Am i being blind and cant find the lead? where abouts would it be? apart from in the boot as i have had a hunt for it but have had no luck

neg - pop back to ya dealer with £20 in ya pocket

if he knows what he's doing you should leave with the bracket you need and have some change for a pint or two to chill out with listening to a cd after fitting it

What changers are compatible with the HU?

My missus has just bought a Y reg 1.4S and I also would like to get her a changer for her birthday.

go to your local SEAT garage and order the cd changer they do, its sony.. i dont know if there are other compatible ones

I just rang them and they said £275+VAT....

Might go for that Sony CDX-T70MX MP3. £180 is slightly cheaer and MP3 compatible.

u'l need the interface adapter thing..

I got mine from ebay - £92

Do a search for VW cd changer - most are from VW's but are comptible - I could see 2 types, one with a circular connecter (not the one you want) and one with rectangular connector (the one you want).
