Carplay... is it terrible for everyone?

Hi all,

Just wanted to see how everyone fares with CarPlay in their new Leon's? I've tried with both a USB-C cable and Wireless, only to find it's nigh on unusable. Frequently locks up, can't make or receive calls and can't select any songs in Spotify. Main apps I use are Google Maps, Spotify and Waze.

I thought the issue may have been down to the fact that I'm running beta iOS software on my iPhone (Personal XS Max), but I'm having the same issues with my work phone (6S Plus) on the latest iOS.

I hoped that Carplay may have improved from the Mk3 Leon, but if anything in my opinion it's got worse!

Any thoughts or feedback from other people would be appreciated?

I'm not a carplay user but I am a Android auto user and I've got many of the same issues, it's nearly unusable and locks up all the time, I also occasionally get a double clicking sound through the center speaker which results in an SOS error on the dash and causes my Android auto to completely crash, the only way to fix this is to turn the car off and lock it and leave it for a bit

the double clicking noise and SOS error is related to eSIM units some of the car has service campaign for it. My one does it same double clicking sound and you can notice your eSim connection disappear and then you have a SOS error

I have no problem, I use wireless

Most of the time Android Auto works perfectly for me but only wired, as wireless was flaky with my Xiaomi phone. But, every so often, it just throws a fit and you have to stop, turn everything off and hold the infotainment system power button for thirty seconds to reset.

No issue here either with Android Auto or CarPlay, both wired and wireless.

The only issue I have with wireless car play is in one particular location it will temporarily disconnect every time I drive past that location.
