Yea that's their answer...4kg is 20% lighter than 5kg so I'm guessing 4kg is the number to keep in mind. They would probably have to take a look at the exact dimensions of the standard bonnet to give anything more detailed.

Anyone know the weight of/fancy weighing a standard bonnet lol?

I will take mine off and take it to my local weight bridge in the new year

I'd be intrested. Though I allready have a Carbon bonnet and a pair of wings for my (very slow) polo Color Concept. (All from ebay so the pair of wings cost under £100 brand new :) I don't think the selleer was happy they went so cheap)

Worth a chat with Carbon Mods (http://www.carbonmods.co.uk) as they produce some excellent value carbon parts and have a good reputation. Westfield bonnet and nosecone is a work of art and sometime I'll treat myself :)

I didn't weigh them, but the carbon bonnet on my Focus is easily 1/3rd the weight of the metal one. That said, the carbon one isn't the best and has a couple of sags (which on metal would be dents) in it now :(
