Car Makes 3 noises it aint meant to please listen

Ok so my car has started making 2 new noises.

Noise 1) when accelerating and the revs are in excess of 4000 I start to hear a very horrible sound like sominthing is releasing pressure, NO ITS NOT THE DUMP VALVE (please don’t be offended but the capitals its just I’m now expecting 400 posts saying; hmm dump valve). Anyway back to Noise 1) it’s like a grating crossed with pressure almost like a deep screech, you can hear this sound in link 1 as the revs get up.

Noise 2) when getting speed up I start to get a very loud rattling sound, I am not able to pin point where its commin from at all. You can hear this sound in link 1 while travling between 60 mph and 80 mph

Noise 3) common noise in leon (when car starts up you almost get like a ticking sound), the other day I used something called supercharge and it removed the sound for like 20 startups now its back again, what is it?

rattling sound could be wind noise from something outside the car.nice diesel sounding engine youve got there!!mine sometimes has a loud buzz when its cold on start up then the idle drops and its fine.the 18t engine generally sounds like a bus on start up.is it ok when its warm??

also the whining noise....you can hear the turbo spooling and you get like a hissing sound...mines been doing this a bit found a split hose under the engine cover earlier yet to figure out what it is...nithing serious i dont think tho!!

have you checked all the belts and covers for the "diesel" noise? sounds like a belt flapping around at idle. could at worse be mechanical noise ie cam followers etc. garage trip pending....... good luck

I think the common noise you are talking about is the carbon filter and I can tell you that you noise you have is WAY louder than that. The ticking made by the carbon filter is also only apparent at idle and does not get worse as the revs rise.

To me it sounds like something wrong with the belts as already mentioned. As all the sounds get worse when you give it more revs I would get it checked out pretty quickly.

Ok, so .... checked out all tubes, belts, fans, anything that could be loose (oh and by the way the car has nothing in it at all that could rattle) and still no luck, decided to call in a favour from a friend who is a seat mechanic.. he's gonna take car out either later today or maybe tomoro?? will post all updates here. oh and i removed as much as i could from engine bay to see if fans tapping against plastic (yet again no luck they aint)

Sorry chris but are u saying my car isnt ment to make a whoosing sound either? i thought that was normall.

yer.. as for the "whooshing" sound.. i get that when the turbo kicks in.. i assumed that was a normal sound

no i meant aswell as the turbo.never had it when i first had the car but maybe its just me being paranoid!!!how thick do i sound now!!!!!!

Ok so after a quick drive, noise 1 is actually a broken bracket on the exhaust causing this strange sound (middle bracket)

Noise 2 Still unknown

Noise 3 possibly have something to do with tap heads being deprived of oil pressure, some filter needs cleaning on the car?? Deff not carbon filter. erm.. gonna give engine huge flush out and stuff... oh and also fan number 2 is dead so thats gettin fixed as well?

did you take this into the dealers..or as im guessing your mate checked this out???i took mine to seat for rattling noise and they said "oh yes its the anti roll bar bushes!!"WRONG!mot failed snapped exhaust bracket!
ive learnt over the past few months that the leon can be a pig at times but when its running as it should youll be well made up!!!!!(even if it sounds like there is a rampant rabbit in the dash board!!!!!)

You live in peterborough! Take it to jabbasport, they have looked at faults 3 times on my car and never charged me!
