I'm having a problem with my car, its fine when its cold (In the morning before work) but when I try to start it when the engines warm about 75% of the times the engine chokes for about 7-10 seconds before starting up, its perfectly fine once its started, but it makes that choking sound before starting  any ideas what it could be?

Seen on an Northern irish garages site they were selling a fix for this issue. Something to due with lack of compensation in worn injectors?? But I'm not sure what they meant by it. I guess it's quite a common problem. Mine also seems to not be instant like it is when its cold once its warmed up

My brothers Golf Mk5 was poor on warm starts but on cold starts would start up straight away and believe it or not once the battery was changed, the problem was gone :S

I duno if this would be the same for yours though...

http://www.************.co.uk/media-news.html If you scroll to the bottom you'll see this

"HOT START / OVERBOOST WHEN COLD VAG
We can now resolve the hot start issues with most VAG diesels , this is due to no compensation for wear in the original
calibration for injection quantity.
1.8T VAG overboost or DV fault , problems starting when cold. We have a software solution."

it's not letting me post it. It just says what I copy and psted in anyway. Its the gagrage advertising they cvan fix this issue, but nothing else is said. They're a small garage so you'd probably have to ring up to find out about it
