Hi all,
i'm from italy and i own 2023 Cupra Leon Sportstourer 1.5 eTSI 150cv DSG with Safe&Driving pack L (no travel assist), i want to retrofit the steering wheel with a capacitive one
I found this https://www.4yourdrive.de/ersatztei...enkrad-abgeflacht-schaltwippen-heizbar_236907
It will fit?
Thanks
I know @cairus will reply to this 😉, but please do not attempt to do this…the capacitive touch steering wheel is, in my experience, and opinion, simply dangerous. Not having physical buttons for cruise control and driver assist systems is madness…

The steering wheel buttons work by both ‘slidey-touch’ and ‘push-click’, so more often than not you accidentally do an action such as increasing/decreasing cruise control speed, switching it on/off, and if you have heated wheel, switching that on and off randomly.

It really is the worst control interface I’ve ever had in a car.

VW have gone back to button controls for a reason; they realised it was a big mistake…a quick Google search on VW Haptic Touch should give you more than information to make you decide to stick to physical buttons.

The steering wheel in your link looks like it has physical push buttons, not capacitive touch, so not sure what you’ll gain from fitting it (if it’s possible).

Stay safe, stick with what you have 🙂

thank you for your answers, i think there is a misunderstanding about the goal i want to achieve. the capacitive function of the steering wheel is necessary for the travel assist to work properly which i would activate later through codings (obdeleven), i have never considered fitting a steering wheel with capacitive buttons, both steering wheels (current and new) have physical push buttons.

I had overlooked the year of manufacture of your vehicle. The software versions should all be correct for the conversion.

thank you, my doubt remains about the wiring, about the fact that I would be going to mount my original cupra airbag on this different steering wheel, do the wiring also match? I am talking about the small black connector that from the airbag connects to the brown connector on the steering wheel, I attach picture, thank you

then the mechanical conversion should be plug & play. Note: the central screw for the steering wheel should be replaced every time it is loosened.
