Done a search on this topic, but had no luck with the answer, so i'm hoping someone can help.
Obviously the UK winter is upon us, and steamed up and frozen windows now greet most of us in the morning, and thanks to VAG's infinate wisdom, most of our cars have lost aircon below 3 degrees, so the windows take longer to demist.
Is it possible to use vagcom to change this temp to something lower, like 0 degrees? I understand its a safety measure put in place to stop the compressor freezing, but on previous cars i've run the aircon all year round and never had a problem, so it think this may be a bit over protective.
If anyone knows if this is possible, please can you point me in the direction of a guide?
In the meantime i have a couple of 12v heaters on the way from maplin (only £8 if others are interested) incase this isn't possible.
Cheers
Dave

it won't work below a certain point until the car has warmed up because ice 'may' have formed in the unit - so it waits for that to be cleared, then it'll work

You don't want to over ride it

On mine (leon fr tdi) it still won't come on when its warmed up, and thats with an hour commute. I don't think its broken as it works fine when the temp' allows it to.
Maybe i'll just have to use the heater 20 mins before my journey and make do.
