Hi

I have just had the rear brake pads changed and the garage have used this part number 1681162280. The brake pads overhanging the disc quite abit.
I am struggling to find a site that can tell me if the part number is compatible with my vehicle. Can anyone offer any assistance?

Hi, that is an aftermarket part number, not VAG's own. I can tell you the exact VAG part number for your car and then you can look for its aftermarket equivalents and check whether those pads the garage used are really compatible or not. To do this, your car's VIN is needed. You can send it to me via a private message, if you don't mind of course. I helped out a lot of people around here that way.

The PR code of your car's rear brake system is 1KE and brake disc size is 272x10mm.
These information could be useful when looking for aftermarket parts, along with the part number itself.

The part number of the pads is 5Q0698451AD and it comes as a set of 2 pieces for left & right sides.

Hope this helps & cheers,
Serdar

This is a EUROREPAR aftermarket pad number.
Your rear pad OE number is 5Q0698451AD - which links to EUROREPAR 1639369480 - so you have the wrong part number. There are similar pads but with different friction material area.
As above - also make sure your discs are 272x10mm. Disc OE number 5Q0615601D
