Camsensor / EPC Warning Light

I've had a problem with my SEAT Ibiza Sport. The EPC and engine management warning lights showed on the dashboard, so I booked the car into the dealership for a diagnostic test.

The garage came back to me saying that the cam sensor needed replacing - total bill £120 odd.

When the car was brought back to me this afternoon I noticed that on delivery the same warning lights were still showing! Phoned them straight back and was told it must now be another fault which seems a bit odd to me.

I phoned an independent garage who said it sounded like a problem with the crank shaft sensor, and that this was a known problem with this make and model.

Has anyone had these problems? Any idea what the solution is? I don't want to keep spending money if it's not fixing the problem!!

Thanks, Naomi

Could try vag on it, that would give u the fault. Saying that though the garage that did the replacement probably did that to identify what sensor they thought needed replacment. Might be worth a go though

They ran a diagnostic test which said the cam sensor needed changing. They gave me a copy of the print out. It does have a fault no on it (which I think corresponds to vag?)
