ABF are the maddest vw cams(220°/228°), so people buying those cams for PL/KR/9A N/A engines because you can get them cheap :)

But maybe he told you that you will get gains with KR head?

what do we know hey fella..... few of us have good spec engines on here and few looking into it now (zero) and I have never heard kr cams in an abf and tbh after looking at Zero's post I can't see much benfit apart from power will be earlier but run out sooner than the ABF cams?

If you want more power from an n/a engine you always go for a bigger cam not smaller

DONT DO IT!! my mate put some in his abf ibiza totally ruined performance of the car didnt make it any quicker off the line and top end was less was a total waste of time. ended up taking them out a month later and putting kent in it and few more bits to engine.

Maybe because Corrado's dont have ABF's in them, they have 9A's.....and a worthwhile swap on a 9A is to put KR cams in them

9A's are set up for torque, not power - the cams are no where near as fruity as KR cams, which in turn are not as hot as ABF cams

Its all about how you drive.

Its amazing if you do 30 in a 30 you NEVER get pulled....

Don't want to jinx myself but this little theory has done me proud, 205 Gti first car, a mk2 Golf on BBS's, big magnex, 2 Ibiza 16V and never been pulled in 11 years of Driving, but I do have the luxury of plenty of good, quiet B roads to get my fix.

I'm going to uprate the cam to a 268 on the inlet only, seen same results on a ABF'd MK3 Golf as getting both done........well once I've chased out all the gremlins.

11 years never been pulled :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: if im driving no lie i go the speed limit and got pull do 30 in a 30 there excuse was nobody does the speed limet on this road so instead of catching everybody else they pull me then have the cheek to say if you sped off we would of caught you in there 1.4 diesal astra :censored::censored:

apparantly its the kr exhaust cam into the abf inlet that gives power.

PL,KR,9A exhaust cam 226°, lift 10,3mm
ABF exhaust cam 228°, lift 10.8mm

i have seen on clubgti ABF exhaust cam for some funny price for sale, 10 pounds, so really dont need to put KR cam into ABF
beside you will need to take the cam wheel down and make a special "hole" to work properly.

The cheapest/easiest cam mod for ABF is 268 inlet, you even dont need to put the belt down :)

I know I'm lucky living i Essex they have plenty of Saxo's and rusty Escorts to chase.

did get tugged once driving into my town on on of those numberplate recognition vans the day after I bought my first Ibiza as it still showed a Glaswegian address but once I showed them the new keeper doc they let me go without even looking round the car.
