installing cams and a head polish with a remap will yeild what, 30 - 40 bhp :shrug:

£1500 for a 1.8T with half as many miles, 180 bhp standard, have i read that right that includes the engine? if it does thats a good price for a full conversion! :yes:

add a stage 1 remap you'd have 210+, then start adding breathing mods, air filter / full exhaust and you'd be getting nearer 230 bhp.....

That was with a remapped ecu from what I remember. Yeah did seem a good price to me, especially due to the mileage it had.
I do love the noise of my valver, as how it drives, but as with most I'd love a bit more poke.
My main reason for not going down that road at the time was the additional cost of the insurance on the conversion would kill me!

Anyway back on topic - to cam or not to cam, that is the question
