right i checked my cambelt and its starting to show some wear, gonna get it all sorted but just wanted to check what people advise....

parts for tensioner belt and waterpump from my mate at seat will be 110gbp, then labour around 150, but is it a bad job? i could ask my uncle to do it - has just done it on a4 so im assuming its similar - as i have no job at the moment money is tight and tbh would rather have spend it on mods

any help would be great.

It's not something i'd attempt myself, but i've heard from mechanics who have said the Cupra cam belt change isn't very difficult at all, so definately get your uncle to do it!

Change the water pump while your at it also - doesn't have to be the metal impellor just a standard one will be fine as long as you change it every 50-60k.

, i wouldnt agree with that at all, mine came out at 38k and was in bits and ive heard of a few others with low mileage ones coming out in bits. While its out get the metel impellor one put back in. Job done and your never have the worry of it falling to bits.

Il second what B3NNY said as when my cambelt and waterpump were done, I replaced it with the metal impellor type which I would recommend using as the mechanic at the garage I use kept the plastic one to show me when I picked the car up, and it was in various pieces and rather brittle and easy to break off!
