Hi all

My car's a 2020 registered January I think seat Leon Cupra 290.

4 years old now and has 16 thousand as mileage.

Any of you guys have any idea when the first cam belt is needed to be replaced?

Thanks

I remember looking into this, these engines have a chain which allegedly lasts 100,000 miles or so

Damn, hope it didn’t cause any damage. Assuming it didn’t, how much was it to get a new one fitted?
£696 for the chain kit supplied and fitted. Also needed a new radiator and shock absorber at the time. Just over £1,420 for all that. Sorry, it was at just under 93k miles, not 80k.

No damage thankfully, just picked up under a post-purchase inspection. Warranty company wouldn’t cover replacement as the chain hadn’t fully failed and knackered the engine. Then they said if you don’t sort it and let it fail now, they won’t cover it as I knew about it and it’d be neglect on my part… They covered the cost of the radiator though.
