Well, the lad picked up the Cupra tonight... felt really sad actually :(

Somehow, until you get a new car, a massive wad of cash doesnt quite equate to losing a shiny car from outside!

Still, get the GTI a week on friday, so really looking forward to that

Trying to sell my 02 lc PFL at the mo got offered £4k from a seat stealer yesterday thieving sod's had it a year and paid double that...

I'm not a happy bunny, the residuals on the leon are crap, to have lost over 4k in 12 months... [:@]

I'd go for the golf mk5 aswell at least you know in 12 months it's value won't have dropped like a alfa romeo or a seat leon...

Won't get another, ok so i didn't buy it cos it was going to be worth as much when i bought it, but next time it'll be some that holds it's value a bit better

What did you expect buying an £8,000 car from a garage, keeping it for a year then trying to sell it back to a garage??
I can't think of an second hand car that you would have been happy with the price a garage would offer you after going this route
Whats the deal with slagging off the Leon. For what you get the price is spot on. It does exactly what I wanted from a car, its fast, agile, 5 doors, looks good and well built at a goo price too.
When I bought my LCR new there was nothing like it for £17,000.
Apart from the look of the car what does a Golf do that the Leon can't equally or better do?
As for residuals, since the Golf is so popular you'll see their residuals drop big time

I agree with Junior, you only ever try to sell to a garage if you are desperate and need the money now, you will always loose whatever car you own, the garage owner is laughing all the way to the bank, when i was looking for my LC all the research i did said that the Leon was an improvement on the golf in handling and looks and value for money.

After looking into it before i sold it privately - selling a car to a dealer/garage is like an absolute last ditch attempt if you HAVE to sell it.

I was offered less than £5k for my car, which then sold for a smidgen under £7k.
