I sold my Cupra R less than a month ago ! I loved that car, it was immaculate. All the mechanics at Seat loved it. It was fun . . Ive never sold a perfect car before that had nothing wrong with it

My missus convienced me to sell it but im now regretting it. New baby forces sale blah blah blah

Oh how boring my life now is . . . the only thing that gets me through every day is knowing i got a superb deal for my new car (Altea FR) and a really really good price for my LCR

DONT DO IT !

Ive done the unthinkable too. Switched from petrol to diesel which i said i'd never do

It's also not a fair comparison - yeah you'll save £1k with a Polo company car - but you'd also have saved over £1k with a second hand Polo instead of your LCR in the first place.

You chose the LCR over a Polo before, so why choose the Polo now?

Totally agree lordgibb.

Thanks everyone for replying. It's made it even clearer in my head that I really don't want to sell the Leon.

I had a big chat with the misses in the pub this evening and she was saying that she's massively unwilling to sell the Leon too. We came to the conclusion that we'd be keeping it!!

I've had the car almost a year now and my insurance is up for renewal. I've just got quotes including for business use and it's £100 less than last year, get in!

I'm so unbelievably chuffed that I'm going to be keep the Cupra. A Polo would be truely bumcakes!

Hi hope this helps , I use mine as a company car and if you contact the inland revenue you can claim back the tax on fuel and and any expenses payments you get such as car allowance. You dont have to be self employed and I do it every year as I get a £300 a month car allowance. Its got my tax code up so I pay significantly less (about 9k before I get taxed anything) and initially got me a rebait with a big fat cheque of £800 from the IR. Loved it, thought it was b@llox when I was first told I could do it but have done it for about 7 years now. Would never get rid of my car! Hope this helps at least one person out there......

From the Car Policy document that I've received from the company it appears that I will be claiming the fuel as expense and then I'll get reimbursed through my monthly pay cheque. Is that the same thing??

You can claim tax back on top of this. I get 27p a mile, so I get that from my employer. The allowance for fuel from the IR is 40p a mile. So when they send you the forms to fill out you can claim the tax back on the difference which in my case is 13p. For example if you claim 300 miles in a month at 27p a mile from your employer you are entitled to tax back on 300 x 13p = tax on £39 over ayear it may only get you a couple £100 quid but better than a kick in the plumbs. The best one is the car allowance so make sure they give you one and its shown as such in your pay rather than just a salary increase. The tax I get back on the £3600 per year is great. If you need any more help pm me and I will give you my number for a chat. The form you need from the IR is http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/p87.pdf. Remember me when you get your first cheque. ;-)

nice 1, get the tax on the £250 a month back from the IR. You can back claim as well up to I think 3 years if you give them a bell. Would work out about £750 a year I think, if you can proove its a car allowance payment from your employer

Cheers Ricardo, that makes alot more sense now. I don't actually know whether I'll be getting a car allowance or not. You'd think it was only fair as I'm using my own car and not taking one of theirs...I'll have to wait and see I guess.
