I've heard it's the new code for the older BKC engine but i'm only interested in the cylinder head and if it'll fit onto an ASZ lump, obviously after changing the injectors over.

I know the BKC will fit but i'm not sure if the BXE head is exactly the same as it's a newer code and might have some differences?

So basically does anyone know if a BXE head will fit any PD engine like most of the rest do?

Thanks ;)

couldn't tell you physically cause you could hit me with one and wouldn't recognise it :) but done a quick scan of a few major parts to compare

ASV + BKC head's swap as they are the same head part number and all

items i can find that match up exact for BKC+ BXE so far:

head bolts
cam seal
camshaft
inlet valves
exhaust valves
cambelt pulley
inner valve spring
outer valve spring
valve cap

few parts listed as different numbers:

cylinder head
rocker cover
rocker cover gasket
head gaskets
valve rocker arm assy
cam follower (hyd)
hub (between pulley and camshaft)

but as said above i couldn't say as to the physically fitting sorry as i can only see numbers but interesting mix of stuff there might help

Thanks

Might pop to VW or Seat and see what they say. Might be that the later parts were improved in some way but from your list i'd still not have a clue lol

Cheers

Thanks

I went to VW and unfortunately they have some different parts, mainly the injectors - apparently the new head has a different fitment.

Thats not strictly true, you can swap BXE injectors - we currently have an AJM 115tdi pd golf running a set of BXE injectors the only difference is the top of the injectors that are driven off the cam but they can be converted using the origional injector parts.
