My cheapest source for 505.01 oil is the local Audi main dealer, £10 per litre for the proper VAG stuff (the VW dealer charges 11.50, the Skoda dealer 11). Castrol Edge is £13 at Halfrauds ....

I am sure that i read on a different site that Ford PD oil is the same as VW in the PD130 range but alot cheaper. Just because it was posted doesnt mean its right though so check. I know my PD160 oil was £9.84 + vat per litre from my local dealer.

PD160 would of been 50601 oil (longlife for engines over 150bhp)

if i spent that sort of money i'd expect never to have to open a bonnet

I would have thought if you have enough money for a Rolls, you have someone to check it for you..lol

yeah its normal. uses less oil when u clock up the miles.
That's generally true of all modern turbo-diesels. Some oil getting past the rings during the first 5k-10k miles, then barely any after the rings get properly seated. You still lose a tiny bit through the CCV and the turbo seals, that's why your intake and intercooler hose are oily.
