Anyhow ever had a random clip just brake? I noticed my cars bumper seems to be stick out just under the driver side headlight and I think it’s because a clip has snapped off.

how much would this cost to repair? My local garage (indie) did fix my cars bumper last year when I banged it into a wall and he did state at the time they had to replace some clips with them braking on impact. Would you just take it back to them for a quote seen as they did the original job?

It depends if the bumper cover tabs have snapped (has tabs to slide into guide profile) or if it is the guide profiles mated to the car that have broken.

This diagram (part 6 and 8), show the guide profiles. There are also different numbers on LHS and RHS of car.

You may be lucky - the bumper cover may have just popped out of the guide profile if near to headlight. It’s a PITA to refit when compared to the majority of VAG cars I’ve worked on previously due to the design/shape of headlights.

Perfect thanks for that bud, I was going to check today but it’s currently throwing down at the moment.
Reckon I’d just get away with unscrewing the arch liner where the bumper is poking out or is it a full bumper off job to check what is broken then to fix?

Depends on the model.

You would probably need to undo all of the screws in the arch liner on the affected side, the screws on the bottom edge of the bumper on the affected side, and a bolt near to the fog light recess. This is just so that you have enough flexibility to manipulate the cover into the guides.

I will try to post workshop manual instructions and I’m sure there’s a video guide somewhere too.

Ahh mines a pre face lift 2016. Watched a video on someone taking the bumper off a 66 red seat Leon which I’m sure is still pre face lift so I’ll follow that too.

thank you for your help thus far, I more than likely will be back with a photo 😎
