Hi guys ,
I've got a Leon with tech pack ,
It's got the bulb failure warning up on the dash,
I've checked with vcds and no faults logged,
Changed every single bulb.
Been to an auto electrical specialist can't fault it
Been back to main dealer and they can't fault it either ,

Has anybody had this issue before, if I do remove a bulb it will tell me in vcds which one is out , but as current no bulbs out and no specific fault logged ,

Really stumped me
I either want to try and code the light out for bulb warning
Or does anybody know off any potential issues ?

Number plate lights are all good , interior lights that's not a bad shout I haven't thought about them ,
I was shocked when the dealer didn't have any answers for me but they said it's been referred up the line to technical support .

So odd it's not logging a fault but if I remove a bulb it will log a fault so not sure what it's detecting .

Far as I know only exterior lights are monitored , but at this present time I'll check anything the warning on the dash is so annoying !

My Octavia VRS randomly tells me my front passenger side light is out (it never is)

On the Octavia at least you can go into 'car' on the infotainment and it shows which bulb is allegedly out but when I check it's perfectly fine. Can this be done on a Leon to narrow down the search?

Have you thought of cornering lights if you have them? I had one before it was one of the bulbs on those - my headlights etc were all fine

i had this error and took it back to the dealer, they got it off and told me it was an update that was needed on something

this was before i changed any lights so knew it wasnt something i had done

It's just come back from the dealer and they said they checked for updates but none available ,

It's got full LED lights too so I can only change a few bulbs but what can be changed I have .

The dealer i got it from wasnt a seat dealer and they told me they couldnt see anything wrong with it

i called Seat uk and they put me through to the closest seat dealer where they done the work then sent any bill back to where i got it from as it was under warranty.

maybe try get a VCDS plugged in, my mates got an RS4 and his VCDS showed errors that the dealer couldnt find on his car

I've plugged up my Autologic to it today , done a vehicle scan and sent it off to their tech team, for those off you who aren't in to know , Autologic is one off the top independent diagnostic providers who employs master techs to assist you with diagnosis over the phone ,
Anyways they informed me there is a bulletin out for this fault and there is a fix which requires some coding to be changed in the 09 central electronics unit (can't be done on vcds the tech told me ) but have been told this needs to be done online by the dealer.
So I call seat back and gave them the bulletin number and the software version management code that needs changing /updating and the woman on the front desk knows all about it which is odd as they claimed to not be able to find any faults or fixes last week ! ,

Either way it's
Going in Monday for it to be sorted
Fingers crossed !

Will update then

Keeping is in suspense this long isn't fair! So what happened? ;)

I would have thought it would be a better known/common issue if there is an ECU fix?! Just had the dash light up on mine for no apparent reason, so curious if you got this sorted.

It took two seat dealers to work it out in the end

They had to change the central electronics module and it cured the fault straight away
