As long as its done to a good standard I cant see an MOT place failing it.

The other good thing with my frame, it can be easilly removed and old seat put back in within 10 minutes, And you dont need to alter anything on the car.

Alot less bother IMO.

so if i were to get a metal plate fixed to the floor and then have my mounting point bolted through that it would all be ok with the MOT people.it)

thats what I did to mine.. Used galvanized steel... Bolt them down to the top of the slide rails at either side, then have the holes drillled for fixing for the seats/screws bolts etc....

If you want pics of mine let me know.. Have dimentions also!

i can fit the seats how i want them to this frame and they adjust via runners on the bottom of the seats.

so what your saying is that ishould mount the harness eyelets to the floor via a re inforcing plate,
if possible can anyone show me on the pic where i should mount them if theres an alternative to thefloor.
cheers guys

How are those bits of frame attached to the car?

The shackles for the lapbelts ideally need to be mounted around 25 degrees down and back from where the belt passes through the slot in the seat.

You mount the shackles as near as you can to the 25 degrees and the reinforcing plate should be welded underneath the vehicle - which the shackle screws into.

okilioki ill get the plates welded to the bottom of the car before i start taking the drivers seat out. my frames are bolted through the car... maybe not ideal but it works. on you twoguys do you still have that bulky bit which acted like the seat adjustment there... itllprobably be infront of the seat if its still there.

Bulky bit is useless... thats the only thing I dislike about the Ibiza, there bleedin seat and frame setup.. now its gone.. happy days!

ive just cut mine off cos the seat wouldnt adjust far enough forward past it. just bought some carpet from the scrappers for £1... well 50p cos i found a 50p under the carpet when i was taking it up :)
ill just patch over the hole, in a neat way so that if anyone decides to look under the seat... very un probable there wont be a hole in the carpet... sorted

you must be massive... i mean im just over 6ft and i need to be just over that bit, are you the green giant? :)

Lol.. 6ft - but my frames arn't drilled into the floor.. There drilled onto the standard rails that are attached to the car.. its very hard to explain the setup without pics... I should be getting car back tomorow so You'll see then wat I mean.
