breather pipe question

the y shaped breather pipe ontop of the engine... what does it do? does it have much of a part to play during cold start?

you mean the one that runs on the side of the inlet manifold??

ill try to get a pic up. thought there was only one and youd all know what i was talking about. try to sort one tomorrow but from memory..

looking at dv follow pipes down the side of engine south wards. i think its an inverted y shape. its called a breather pipe and im trying to get an idea what the breather system does. `particually when engine is cold?

if its what i thinkit is its only a vacum pipe wouldnt really do much but will wait for pic!
