Hi there,

I recently I bought brand new brembo brake kit for mk2 Leon (part no 1P0071450), on Seat's website it sais it fits Leon, Leon Cupra, Altea and Toledo. I have 1.6 Reference Leon from 2006 so I thought it's ok. Went to get them fit on Saturday and was told they won't fit. Was told hub is to small for caliper ;( called Seat today and was told that they don't know if it fits or ot :O does anyone know if they definetly won't fit ?? here's link to seat's website:

Thanks for any help you can give

If they don't fit then your entitled to at least a full refund as the website clearly says it will fit.

From having a quick look around I'd say they only fit the 2.0 fsi and up, and that there £200 cheaper elsewhere!

it's probably because you need spacers for your alloy spokes to clear the calipers. I needed 10mm spacers for my alloys to clear the calipers on my brembo kit.

I have 19'' wheels so there's plenty of space (they recommend 18'' for that kit), can anyone confirm I just need bigger hubs ?? or do I need to replace the whole bit with driveshaft, shock absorbers etc...
thanks

From what i remember, all mk2 leons have a 57.1mm hub and 112 x 5 for the studs, regardless of whether it's a cupra or 1.6. So i'm a bit bemused how it doesn't fit, unless they sent you the wrong kit.

The simple answer is you have FSIII brakes. Which means the carrier for the caliper is integeral to the bearing housing (that joins onto the strut) so you cant remove it to fit a larger disc. You need the hubs/bearings, bearing housings and probably front struts from a car with the ATE brakes.

Last question, I promise :) Does anyone know if hub, bearing housing and front struts from Golf mk5 GTI will fit as well or does it have to be FR/Cupra ? thanks

All right, I spoke with my mechanic today. I also need to check if driveshaft and steering racks in my car are same as FR/Cupra's. I assume they probably not... So is there point getting all that parts for me and fitting brembo's on or it's just too expensive ?

In the seat accessories & merchandise book it says Brembo brake upgrade 1p0071450 £1,420 excludes fitting.
Must be used only with wheel size 8j x 18 ET50 tyre size 225/40x18" includes calipers, pads, discs, surpport clips and brake fluid. It dosent state what type of leon you must have, so go for a refund.

The thing is I didn't buy it directly from SEAT so can't get my money back, I can either buy the parts from Leon FR/Cupra and fit them (still don't know exactly all parts needed and cost of that) or resale them... I would prefer to fit them but can't afford to spend huge amount for additional parts...
