Brake Woes

Hi, First time on the site and I'm looking for help!!
My son has just brought a 01 Cupra and we gave it a much needed service, all the usual stuff including changing the break fluid and that's were the problem starts. Changed the fluid no air in the system but since then ... no brakes. The peddle is hard when the engine's off but start the engine and the peddle goes to the floor. Has anyone out there any ideas.

Took it to a local garage just in case I'd not bled them correctly and he put 2ltr's of fluid through the system and it's still the same so i'm wondering if it's either the master cylinder or air in the ABS.

My old Cupra went in to the dealers to have a brake fluid change during a service and they struggled for over 4 weeks to recify the problem that they caused.

Apparently they had somehow trapped air in the ABS pump which resulted in no brakes at all.

Hopefully you get it sorted, but i know they had some hydraulic pressure pump thingy that they had to get in to sort out the problem.

Air in the ABS Pump .. or as they use the same fluid for the clutch then air in the clutch doofer (not sure of the right name - it's a sat night after all :) )

sounds like you might have rotated the seal in the master cylinder.
Did you use the old pump the pedal bleed method or a vacumm bleed kit?

I thought there was something said about bleeding the brakes with ignition on or engine running- something to do with ABS although i could be wrong ...... vagtech did mine but they had some fancy pump thing that was connected to it.
