Hi guys,

got the flashing glow plug light the other day so had a look into it. I assumber the brake lights were sticking on....

however,

It seems that the brake lights work fine... and all looks ok with no sideligths or main beams on, also get no flahsing glowplug light....

I have changed the brake switch and NO CHANGE! I only realised after changing it that the fault is....

When side lights or main beam is on - Brake lights illuminate constantly....

If i press the brake i can just about see the brake switch work , i gets a little brighter,

So in essence, the sidelights/main beam are turning the brake lights on constantly, and the normal rear lights (on the boot) arent coming on at all! Wtf is going on?

The top strip brake light on the spoiler is also constantly on with the side/main beam...

please help

scott

well they were working.

looking at the wiring diagrams am i right in say the bulbs that are the brake lights are also the tail lights.....

like you say twin filament, i reckon the filaments could have gone on the brake lights or something....

The were working i havent changed the bulbs.... so they are the right ones...

what are the functions of the lights on the boot lid?

If the boot lid lights were kaput, would it make the standard sidelights on the body illuminate more?

well i dunno then lol.

cant look at it till sunday, but its baffling me as to why the lights on the boot dont work, but the main beam/side lights make the brake lights constantly illuminate,

anyone any ideas??

well, what a load of crap. What i though were tail lights o the boot seem to do **** all. Thats what was cofusing me. It was as simple as the two filamets in the right hand brake/tail light had fused together, causig the main beam to put on the brake lights!

I couldnt get my head round it cus i thought the boot lid lights were part of the main beam circuit and should illuminate! Seems they arent even used!!

ARGH! Lesson learnt.
