Brake Light Fuse Help

Hi All,

I had a blown brake light bulb so replaced it yesterday morning. For a while it was fine but later in the afternoon the Glowplug light started flashing and yep, none of my brake lights were working.

I am aware this is indicitive of the brake switch failing but thought it was a bit coincidental that it was so short after replacing the bulb, so was thinking it might be more likely a blown fuse/bulb, so before ordering a new brake switch thought I'd perhaps replace a fuse however... I'm at my parents and my manual is in my house so can anyone pinpoint what fuse is the brakes on the fusecard??

I've got suspicions that it may not be the fuse though as the "sidelight element" of the bulbs are still working on both sides, just not the brake elements.

I've also bought another couple bulbs to try changing them too.

Cheers

I didn't think there was a fuse for the brake lights, Adrian..

My money would be on a brake light switch (circa £10)..

My money would say that spend 15 min going to buy new bulbs and fuses and by the time you get back the problem has cured itself...

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure hence why I got the card out. I'm putting it down to either slightly knocking the brake pedal (and switch) when hoovering out the car yesterday morning or it being a dodgy contact in the buld/holder. If it presents itself again I'll order a new switch.

Cheers for the heads up Damo.
